Infrared Sauna at Silueta wellness in Písek

Scientific progress and new technology in the 1960s led to the emergence of a new way to take a sauna: the infrasauna.

Infrared Sauna is available to you every Wednesday from 16:30 to 21:00.

  • The infrasauna is a very effective source of help on the road to good health

It heals the body in a wonderful way and has a preventative effect. It is becoming integrated into therapeutic treatment provided as part of our healthcare and the spa environment. It is a very efficient way to detox the entire body. The infrasauna is intended for high-perspiration, therapeutic and rehabilitative cures. Infrasaunas are the emerging next generation. The body is not warmed inwards from the outside (as in the case of the Finnish sauna) but due to infrared waves – known abroad as a "home remedy" – permeating the entire body. We can't see infrared light, but we can feel it. It feels warm. The body is exposed to temperatures of 30–60°C rather than high temperatures in the 90–100°C range, making the infrasauna suitable even for clients with high blood pressure.

  • What is the optimal duration of an infrasauna?

The reduced sauna time is more acceptable in light of today's hectic lifestyle. A mere 40–45 minutes is sufficient for the entire cleansing procedure, compared to 2–2.5 hours in a classic sauna. And just 10 minutes before training, a massage, etc., or after exercise, enhances the therapeutic effect of the activity in question. Can you spare 10 minutes? Can you spare 40 minutes, once a week? No? But could you manage to make that time? Just be aware of what an excellent help it is in your quest for a happier and healthier life.

  • Reasons to go to the infrasauna

  • Reduces muscular tension and pain
  • Strengthens circulation
  • Increases tissue extensibility, tightens the skin and improves its elasticity, effective in treating skin diseases and inflammatory processes
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Flushes toxic substances out of the body (apparently up to 3 times more than in a Finnish sauna)
  • Reduces stiffness in the limbs, joints and back
  • Efficiently relaxes and regenerates the system, breaking down the effects of stress
  • An appropriate companion for weight reduction – the Infrared Thermal System burns 600 or more calories in 30 minutes (caloric output for an individual weighing approximately 75kg during 30 minutes of sports activity: marathon 393; swimming (crawl) 300; jogging 300; tennis (fast game) 265)
  • Effective in removing cellulite
  • Improves acne, eczema, skin damage
  • Improves the skin's appearance (clears impurities and dead skin cells; new cells form well following removal of the old, dead cells), restores the skin's elasticity, lustre and softness
  • Suitable for use by athletes before and after exercise (tested at the Olympic Games in Atlanta)
  • How to use the infrasauna

  • Once or twice a week as a sweat-cure for a duration of 30–40 minutes at a temperature of 50–60°C. You will sweat twice as much as in a classic sauna. The sweat-cure ends with a tepid shower or bath.
  • Daily for 5–15 minutes (in temperatures up to 60°C, immediately after switching the sauna on, dressed lightly): as a preventative health measure; when preparing for sports activity: as a therapeutic treatment; and prior to having a Swedish massage. Please consult specific treatment with your physician.
  • Not recommended for individuals with silicone implants.
